“WHILE THE BILLY BOILS.’neuumont Smith’s great Australian special production, “While the Billy Boils,” an amazing picturisation of Henry Lawson’s widely-read hook, opened its two days’ season at the popular Strand Picture House last evening to a big and thoroughly delighted audience. A six-part all-Bri-tish production, starring beautiful Blanche Sweet in “Help Wanted— Male,” precedes the big attraction, while other splendid films in topical and comedy, arc also included in the film bill. Intending patrons should reserve their scats for this evening’s final screening. The plans are at the Novelty Depot. LAST OF THREE FINE STARS.

The very strong triple star bill at the popular King's Theatre has completely won the good will of local picture goers. Louise Lovely presents in ”While the Devil Laughs,” what as a rattling good picture play—easily her best to date. Win. Paramount’s production, “The Passionate Pilgrim," is a strong drama with over 20 star artists in the cast, and Universal’s play, "The Fire Cat,” with .Edith Roberts in the lead, told a stirring story in front of a magnificent scenic background. The big programme llnishe.s to-night. “ANNE OF GREEN CARLES.” The popularity of L. M. Montgomery's celebrated hook, “Anne of Green Gables,” was very great—it ran into many editions. It is therefore not surprising that ils success in film form with captivating Mary Miles Minterns "Anne” has been phenomenal, it will be shown to-morrow evening at Hie Theatre Royal, and a big houseis foreshadowed by liberal bookings at Paul’s.
