SHEARERS’ AWARD
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) MARION, Monday.
A meeting of producers resolved that as shearers’ wages have been fixed by the Arbitration Court, no person will be allowed to try and prevent shearers working at award rates- The meetin r believed iherc would be no difflcully in getting shearing done at award rates.
The mealing also requests the Government lo do away with the power nf the Arbitration Court lo award preference to unionists.
The meeting entered a most emphatic. protest against the proposed charge of £2 yearly for rural mail delivery, considering that the country settlers arc as much entitled to free delivery as the townspeople.
