$ THE AFTERMATH. (By Telegraph.—Press Association). THAMES, Tuesday. As the result of a thorough soaking in the quickstep competition on Saturday, two members of the Whakatane Band have been admitted to hospital, and four others are unwell. Several members of the Hauriki Band are confined to their beds, and Conductor Clarke is ill. THE HYMN TEST. The judge’s notes on Hie Hamilton Municipal Band's performance in the hymn lest were as follows; —• ' Ist Band. — Ist, verse: Not quite together. Basses not strictly in tune. Phrasing incorrectly. Burs 17 to 19 cut of tunc. Moderately wcil done. Tone n little coarse; 2nd verse: Bar 1 minim read as crochet. Horns out of tune, bars 17 to I'J. Crcs. moderately well done; tied verse: Tone not warm enough; basses out of tunc, 0 to 13. Too much emphasis bars 13 to 17. These remarks apply I" each verse. Moderately well played. Points 81. OTHER EVENTS. The following are the results of the concluding events in connection with the above contest: —• Bass Drum, solo —A.
