PRISONERS SENTENCED.

WELLINGTON, Saturday

The Court of Appeal gave judgment Ibis morning in several cases of appeals by prisoners from sentences imposed in the Supreme Court. In each the sentence was considerably reduced. In the ease of Allan Raymond George (argued on September 20th), the sentence was reduced from three years' hard Labour to two years’ hard labour. George had pleaded guilty to charges of bigamy. The sentence of Pcreival Rhys Wingrove, found guilty of making a false declaration under the Marriage Act (appeal argued on 30th) was reduced from three to two years’ reformative treatment.
