Commenting on the report which has • reached London that Queensland is j floating a twelve million dollar loan in ’> j 7 per cent, bonds, redeemable in 20 years, through the National City Company of New York, Mr Percy Hunter informs the Australian Press Association that he had received no intimation of such a happening, but had been in- ' formed that his Government was carry- ■ ing out, negotiations elsewhere than in London, and might lie al* 1 c to arrange , a loan without London's aid. The National City Company of New York announces that the Queensland loan of 12.000.000 dollars in seven per cent, bonds, with a currency of 20 years, was subscribed in half-an-hour.
