BAND QUEEN

MONSTER CARNIVAL AND BAZAAR, An enthusiastic meeting of workers for the monster bazaar to be held on October 12, 13 and li was held at the Campaign Hut last evening. Mr H. C. ■loss occupied the chair. The chairman reported that a successful canvas had been made of the townspeople, and everything pointed to the bazaar bring a huge success. It was decided that the bazaar he opened on Wednesday next at 2.30 p.m.

The stalls will be under the direction of the following:—Needlework and fancy, Mrs B. Lowry and party; jumble, Misses Sherson; cakes, Mesdamcs Cobb and Howe; produce, Mrs J. Taylor; sweets, Mrs Vickery: (ire brigade. Mrs Archer; doli and toy, Mrs Croxford; tea rooms, Mrs Bcnnet and party.

Games and attractions of every kind will be held, and athletic events will find a place among the varied items of entertainment.

Tire young folk will be well catered for by donkey rides, basket ball, punch and judy show, art gallery, motion pictures, and a host of other forms of entertainment will give young and old an enjoyable time. T he competitions side of the carnival is a big feature. Mr W. H. Reynolds has charge of the school children’s elocution competitions. The table decorations will tic under the capable supervision of Mrs F. TWilson.

11 is anticipated that the Winter Show buildings will be well filled.

Entries for the competitions will close on Monday, October 10. Entries may be left at Mr W. Gann’s shop. There is no entrance fee.
