MEETING OF S.A. ASSOCIATION. A meeting of Hie South Auckland Jersey Cuttle Breeders’ Association was presided over by .Mr A, E. Missen. Several new members were enrolled. The chairman reported Hint clubs had been formed in Malamala and Tc Aroha districts, each with a membership of 30. There was an increased interest in the breed in every part of the province, and last year’s prices were well maintained at all sales. He deplored the lack of interest on live part of some of the older breeders, who seemed content, he said, to rest on their laurels. The younger breeders were coming to the fore and improving their Dorris. With systematic culling and testing the tierds would soon rival those of the older breeders. It was decided to call meetings at an early dale of delegates from all clubs in the South Auckland district. The meeting supported Mr A. B. Clark’s action in arranging prize-list for Hie forthcoming A. and P. Show in November. On Hie motion of the chairman a vote o;' condolence was passed with the relatives of Hie late Mr C. Day. The chairman spoke of Mr Day’s long and honourable connection with Hie Jersey breeders, and of his sterling Dualities and his readiness always In give kindly help ami advice In younger breeders.
