Inquiries in the best financial circles have proved that the report that America is demanding the immediate repayment nf £1,000,000,000 of war debt is without foundation. Direct evidence to the contrary is found in a Washington dispatch which stales that President Harding intends to request the early consideration of a prompt passage of a measure providing for the funding of Allied debts. A Washington correspondent, however, qualities the statement hy commenting that Hie present temper of Congress, and particularly Ibe Senate, makes (he passage very dubious indeed, no mailer how strongly Hie President may urge it-
