* KIcCONACHY IN ENGLAND. IMPRESSING THE CRITICS. (Australian and N-Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, October 5.
MoConachy, the New Zealander, made a remarkable recovery during the opening session of the second day of his match of 8000 up with Melbourne Inman. McConachy showed excellent judgment, owing to a mastery of the pace of the ivory balls. His best breaks were 365 a'nd 107. In'raan was unlucky, just failing in good shots. The closing scores were: McConachy 3049, Inman 2532. The Daily News states: "What strikes one most about McConachy is his intensity. The universe holds nothing for him when he is playing but cues, balls and table. He rarely changes his mind when once determined on a shot, and is always out to score, even in cases in which nine out of ten professionals would play safetyHe has a delicate touch, and shows confidence with masse shots, of which he played a number. He also scored some sensational screwbacks."
