MR WILFORD'S MOTION DEFEATED BY 38 TO 20. THE DIVISION LIST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The House resumed the debate on the Addrcss-in-Iteply and the Liberal waut-of-coniidence motion early this afternoon. The speeches made by half-a-dozen members did not break much now ground, and the division was reached at 11.30 p-m. This resulted in the defeat of Mr Wilford's motion by 38 votes to 20, with eight members paired on each side. The Labour members voted with the Liberals.

The division was a fair trial of strength, since the votes and pairs accounted for 75 members, including the Speaker. Mr Myers (Liberal) has resigned, and Messrs Vigor Brown (Independent Liberal) and SUtha.m (Leader of the New Party) abstained from voting. The members who voted for Mr Wilford's motion were: Messrs Bartram, Edie, Forbes, Holland, Horn, Howard, Isitt, Kcllett, McCombs, Masters, Poland, Seddon, Sidey, Smith, R. W, Smith, g. G. Sullivan, Veitch, Wilford and Witty. Pairs for Messrs Ngata, McCallum, Jennings, Fraser, Parry, Savage, Hanan and Thacker. After the division the debate was adjourned on the motion of Mr Holland, who will have an opportunity to move his want-of-confldence motion. The division on this motion Is likely to be reached during the day, and the way will then be clear for the terminalion of the debate, which already has occupied six days.
