THE BANKS' OFFER. ACCEPTED BY BUYERS. (Bv Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The wool buyers have accepted the tier made 'by the banks, and the difficulty that caused the postponement of the wool sales is now removed. The form of shipping document suitable to both banks and buyers will be issued by the Shipping Companies, pending the final adjustment of the question raised in connection with bills of landing. The refusal of the buyers to bid at auction pending a settlement of this difficulty caused the postponement of the Dunedin sale, and so interfered with other dates. It has been arranged now that the Dunedin sale be held on August 4, and the Invcroargill sale on August 6. The date of the Timaru sale will be fixed later.

WOOL SALES. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, July 22.. At the mixed wool sales B.A.W.R.A.'s, mostly merinos, sold well at late rates. There was a good selection of free merinos. There was strong German competition, and the home trade is more active. There was a good selection of free crossbreds at full late rates. Slipes were mostly withdrawn, limit being too high. New Zealand Erg lOid to 9Ad. At the mixed wool sales merinos were very firm, being practically equal to opening prices. The home trade was active. Medium low cross'breds met with a brisker demand, while prices were slightly in sellers' favour. There were some withdrawals of fine crossbreds, owing to the high limits. The Berley realised laid with'an average of 15d; Carlingford, top lod, average 14Ad; Moyal, top 23Ad, average lSd; Carlindie, top Hid, average lid KEEN COMPETITION.
