VALUATION DELAYS
BRANCH OFFICE AT HABBULTON. LOCAL BODY REQUEST. The Waikato, Waipa and Raglan County chairmen —Messrs J. P. Bailey, Stewart Reid and Campbell sobmstone — waited upon the Minister of Public Works, Hon. J. G. Coates, at Is'garuawahia yesterday with a request that a branch of the Valuation Dcparfctnent.be established at. Hamilton. They pointed out the difficulty at present ex-rwrienced over the valuation rolls, and mentioned the great delays that occurred through Jiaving to get all their wcrk done through the Auckland office. In consequence many properties liable itor rates were not even on the roll, and notices could not be sent out until the rolls were returned.
The Minister said he realised the difficulties, and would communicate with the right authorities on the matter and see what could be done. He woivld let the deputation know the result-.through their member.
