NEW RECORD CREATED. The following events were decided after we went to press on Saturday at the Motor Cycle Sports:— Waikato Handicap, open (15 laps). —S. Whitehead Blx X) 45sec, 1; H. Moeller (Harley Davidson) 52sec, 2. Six started, only two finishing, M. C. McGregor (Indian) led throughout, having the hardest of luck. Jn the final lap, when he looked a very pro« bahle winner, his chain came o'ff and prevented him finishing. The time, lTmin. 4 sec, was good under the circumstances.

Side Car Handicap (5 laps), stock machines to be used fall side cars to carry adult passengers).—J. P. Morris (7 h.p. Harley Davidson) 10 sec, 1; 11. D. Lincoln (7 h.p. Harley Davidson) 10 sec, 2; A. McColl (7 h.p. Indian) lOsec, 3. Time 7min. 3sec. This event, in which there were 14 starters, attracted a good deal of interest. The machines hung together most of the way, the finish being a matter of about seven yards between them. The time registered was remarkably good. The race was marred by an unfortunate accident to L. V. Martin, of Springdale, Lower Waitoa, the tyre of whose machine burst, overturning it. Martin and his passenger had a miraculous escape from serious injury. As it was. Martin was badly cut about the face, necessitating medical attention. He also suffered somewhat from shook. His passenger, D. Fisk. escaped with a few bruises. The machine was wrecked.

Hamilton Handicap, open (10 laps). —A. T. Bell (7 h.p. Harley Davidson) 125 sec, 1; W. C. Goodwin (2J h.p, Douglas) ISO sec, 2; J. Sweeney (3£ h.p. Indian) 95sec, 3. Time 12min. 47 3-ssec 12 starters.

Lightweight Handicap (stock machines. 8 laps), for machines up to GOO c.c.—W. C. Goodwin (2J h.p. Douglas) 30 sec, 1; E. Marshall (4 h.p. Harley Davidson) lOsec, 2; A. B. Thomas (3i h.p. A.8.C.) scr., 3. Time lOmin. 4T>sec

Consolation Handicap (5 laps).—• L. Mangham (Harley Davidson) 1, J. Sweeney (Indian) 2. R. Kemp Indian; 3. Time 4min. 59 3-sseo. This race provided the bes,t event of the day, and Incidentally a new record for the track. Mangham rode superbly, his time for one lap of the event registering as high as 70 miles an hour. A lap is roughly a mile and a furlong, and the time registered for the whole 'event thus averages G 7 miles an hour. The other two placegetters also rode fine races.
