DIPLOMA OF COMMERCE
A PROPOSAL ENDORSED. FOR SUBMISSION TO SENATE. By Telegraph—Press Association. YVELLINLGTON, Friday. A soheme for the establishment of a diploma of commerce was considered bv representatives of the Bankers' Insurance and Shipping Officers' Guilds, and of the New Zealand Society of Accountants yesterday. A scheme was presented by the Dunedin Committee, lopresenting the Otago University, the Society of Accountants, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Manufacturers' Association. It was explained that the suggested groups are the industry group, the banking and finance group, the shipping transport group, the insurance groups, and the political and social science group. The proposal was most favourably received, the Guild representative undertaking to get into touch willi employers, asking ihem to co-operate in furthering the scheme. which in due course will he placed before the University Senate for approval.
