THE FRANKLIN SHOW
A FINE EXHIBITION. ALL RECORDS BROKEN. The Franklin Show opened yesterday under the most favourable auspices. It is claimed t» break another record, for it is fully representative of the pastoral and agricultural Interests of the Franklin County, which extends practically from coast to coast, and embraces all the lands from Papakura to Mercer. This county includes some of the richest agricultural and pastoral districts in the whole of the Auckland province, and in all sections of the present show the exhibits have both quantity and firstclass quality as their predominant characteristics.
To-day, the People's Day, is, of course, the big day. There will be some fine jumping competitions and other ring events among the principal attractions. Excursion trains will run north and south to Pukckohe. A wide, and varied programme of amusements has been arranged by the patrons. Many distinguished visitors, headed by His Excellency, the GovernorGeneral, the. Right Hon. the Prime Minister, and Sir Frederick Lang, Speaker of the House, will be guests of the Franklin A. and P. Society.
