t "Practically like a motor car," declared a gentleman competent to speak on such matters, in discussing the running capabilities of the VV'inther I Motor Truck, a 3A ton model which recently came through from Auckland to Hamilton [driven by Mr J. Whitford; in the exceptionally good time of 8 hours. The mileage was much better than was anticipated, the consumption of fuel being 10 miles per gallon. The trucks vary in size from li tuns to a 7-ton dump (with '_'* ton, 3i ton, and b ton sizes in between). Tlie trucks from \!■ ton to 'JA ton are fore wheel driven, steering on two front wheels. The 'i to 1 ton truck is capable of doing ;!3 miles per hour. A feature is the oiling system, force through board crank shaft. The engine is one of th v e best on the American market. The Winther Motor Lorry is being introduced to Hamilton by the wellknown firm of Russel and Co., and a model of it can be seen at the firm's premises, known as the "Oldsmobile Garage," in Bryce Street. Several good features, making fur good running and service, are to be found in this machine, which should make it popular among those desirous ob obtaining the value for their money. Another feature of this machine which will appeal to motor experts is its beautiful springing system—strong, logn and flexible. These are very important qualities in any motor truck, and they certainly have not been forgotten in the Winther Motor Lorry. now being brought to Hie notice of the Waikato public. Other features are a detachable sylindcr head, n multiple disc clutch which can bo adjusted in two minutes, also cylinders separate from the crank case, making it more accessible and easier to handle than many other makes.
