NEW DEFENCE SCHEME
TRAINING OF TERRITORIALS. TO OPERATE FULLY IN 192'3. CADETS TO START NEXT JUNE. By Telegraph—Prer.s Association. WELLINGTON, Friday. The Minister for Defence (Hon. Sir R. Heaton Rhodes) states that the full training of Territorials under the new Defence scheme will commence in 1923, but it is hoped to commence Cadet training under the new scheme in June next. Meanwhile the training of officers and N.C.O.'s will proceed and the men will be posted to units to commence training on ttie new basis _as soon as the complete scheme operates. The alteration of the districts will be made early next year.
