MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the Executive of the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association wa s held this morning. Present: Messrs W. G. Park (President), W. J. McKee, H. Waring, 'l'. Bellamy, C. J. Potts, P. R. Seddon, J. Teddy and T. Clarkin. 0 Mr S. Knight Ongaruc, wrote thanking the Association for the treatment accorded him as a judge at the recent show, complimented the Association upon its exhibition, and donating his expenses as a special prize for next show in a class to be judged by the 7101101'. —A—hourly vole of—Thanks was accorded Mr Knight for his generosity. An application from the Waikato Caledonian Society for the use of the Showgrounds and appointments for a sports meeting on January 3 was granted, subject to a fee of £lO. The Auckland Racing Club intimated that it was prepared, should the Association so wish to amend the conditions of its special prize for a thorough-bred-stallion that it should stand for a fee of £lO 10s in place of £5 ss. The secretary submitted rough statement qf accounts in connection with the Show, which showed an estimated credit of about £-100, which was considered satisfactory. A discussion arose as to the rent to bo charged the Hamilton Polo Club for the use of the ground for the present season, and it was agreed that it be fixed at £3O for practices and matches, the fee not to include the use of the grounds for sports, which is to be subject to a special arrangement. Mr Waring and other members referred to the delay in the train service. At the last show, it was stated, trains which left the grounds at 1.30 did not reach Taupiri till 7.-15 p.rn., while the delay in forwarding stock was also great. As these things were recognised as having a prejudicial effect on tile show, it was decided to communicate with tile District Traffic Management with a view to securing improvements at future gatherings. Mr Clarkin referred to the need for a caretaker for the grounds, and it was decided to refer the matter to the Grounds Committee, with power to act. The secretary was authorised to pay the prize money in connection with the recent show.
