CRICKET IN AUSTRALIA
ENGLAND v. AN AUSTRALIAN XI. FINE LAST-WICKET STAND. A DRAWN' GAME. (United Press Association.) Received December 6, 11.30 p.m. BRISBANE, December 6. The weather was sultry for the resumption of tile cricket match, England v. an Australian XI. The attendance was fair. Continuing England's first innings, VVaddington and Wilson made a line last wicket stand, adding 97 runs by careful cricket.
Carter and Tozer opened the Australians' second innings. Carter scored somewhat freely, notwithstanding several changes in the bowling, the severe heat troubling the visiting bowlers. Moore ag-iin succumbed first ball. The first 100 were compiled in 110 minutes. Tozer played a patient, clianceless innings. Owing to the failing light the stumps were drawn at 5.20 and the match resulted in a draw. The following are the scores:— AUSTRALIAN XI. First Innings 255 Second Innings.
