A NOBLEMAN'S BETS
GAMING ACT PLEADED. (Australian and NY/. Cable Assn.) LONDON, October 13. A firm of bookmakers is suing Lord Loughborough to recover £4lO sterling due on a dishonoured cheque tenderer in settlement of a. racing bet. Lord Loughborough, as a defence, pleads the Gaming Act, adding thai the cheque was not, met because his trustees, hearing he was betting, refused to advance the money.
