LIQUOR IN DARWIN
SLY GROG-SELLING RAMPANT.
MUCH BAD LIQUOR CONSUMED

The Darwin Commission to"k t '" rt!l< : r evidence, indicating that sl.> »ro»-sell-ing is rampant , and much bad liquor is consumed. In regard to one consignment of bulk whisky, the supervisor Of hotels was asked if two or three men did not die in one day at the time of its arrival, and if the bad whisky had something to do with the deaths. Ho said it was alleged that this was so. Witness also stated that lie ordered other bottled whisky, but Dr. Gilruth notified him that he must not do so •without consulting him till the bulk consignment was finished. The Commission has concluded its sitting and has departed from Darwin.
