BRITISH POSTS ATTACKED. NATIVES LOSE HEAVILY. .. IN HAND TO HAND FIGHTING. (Reuter's Telegrams.) Received January 15, 12.35 p.m.DELHI, January 14. Advices from Kotkai, dated January 10, state that our covering parties, while constructing picket posts, were attacked and driven back after a hand-to-hand struggle, in which the enemy suffered heavily. The posts were not established. On the Hth inst. General Lucas' brigade moved out to re-camp near Gurlamakach. They seized the hills and plateau overlooking the enemy, who were additionally surprised when General Gwyn Thomas' brigade occupied a post overlooking Amnwitangi. The tribesmen retreated, enabling our forces to picket the hills.
