Herr von Lersner, in an interview after the ratification of the Peace Treaty, said that lie hoped the Entente would help Germany to work cheerfully and fulfil her obligations because economic prosperity, especially that of France, depended upon Germany’s economic recovery. He urged the Allies not to insist upon a literal extradition of the war criminals, because such action would have very grave consequences not merely in Germany, but as affected the peace of Europe.
