LIQUOR IN KING COUNTRY
BIG HAUL AT TAUIVIARUNUI.
(13 v Telegraph.—Press Association.) TAUMAEUNUI, Wednesday. The police got the biggest haul of whisky yet made in the King Country, catching two men leaving the midnight express last night with 96 bottles m four hampers and a portmanteau. They left with the swag on the “blind side of the train, and are alleged to have brought the whisky all the way from Wellington. These two men have been suspected by the police of landing whisky at Eaetihi, Ohakune, and Taumarunui for some lime, and have been summoned on the present charge to appear at the Court on the 27th.
