RESULTS IN A HOLD-UP. STRUGGLE WITH THE POLICE. i ßy Telegraph.—Press Association.! CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. A motorist driving toward the cit}' on Saturday night with his wife, observed a man with a shotgun holding up three persons on the road. The motorist was 'allowed to pass after a parley, and made a dash for the Addington Police Station, where lie picked up Sergeant Stewart and a constable When the party arrived on the scene the hold-up was still in progress. The constable presented an automatic revolver at the man with the gun, and Sergeant Stewart dashed in and grappled with him. A terrific struggle ensued, lint the man was finally overpowered and handcuffed. He said iris name was Albert .Edward Xiehol, aged 40. Ho was charged at the Magistrate's Court to-day with Pointing a loaded shot-gun at William Haiin, with intent to do grievous bodily Karm, and remanded. Harm is a brother-in-law of Nicholl. It is understood that a family dispute caused the trouble, and one of the party field no was Hann’s wife, a sister of NichoTl.
