CANADIAN NEWSPRINT

PROSPECTS FOR SUPPLIES. (Reuter’s Telegrams.) Received January 11, 5.5 p.m. OTTAWA, Jan. 8. The acting-Premler has received from London copies of urgent representations from New Zealand newspapers for an adequate supply of newsprint. The officials state that they have no reason to suppose that shipments to Australasia will be less than last year. The Commissioner of Customs states that there will be no interference with shipments to Australasia unless the mills refuse to supply Canadian papers. This is a very remote possibility.
