BARRING UNDESIRABLES
NOT WANTED IN NEW ZEALAND.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Saturday. „ Moses Baritz, who was ordered to leave New Zealand under the provisions of the Undesirable Immigrants Restrictions Act, was a passenger by the Moeraki for Sydney last night. Another ease taken under the Undesirable Immigrants Exclusion Act is reported. A short time ago Mr F. Niall, secretary of the Freezing Trades Federation, enquired whether a slaughterman named Michael Blaney, now in Australia', would be permitted to come to New Zealand for the purpose, of engaging in his occupation in New Zealand sheds. He has since been informed that acting under the legislation of last session the Attorney-Gene-ral would withhold permission to land in New Zealand. No reason was given. Mr Niall states that Blaney was deported from New Zealand in 1918. He was a man who spoke freely, and is evidently regarded in the light of an agitato?.”
