EMPIRE EXHIBITION

A GIGANTIC UNDERTAKING. LARGEST EA’ER SEEN IN BRITAIN. THE PRELIMINARIES COMPLETED, (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received Jan. 9, 11 p m. LONDON, Jan. 8.

The preliminaries for the British Empire Exhibition lo bo held in 1922 have been completed. The exhibition will probably he held at Regent Park. The Imperial Dominions and Colonial Governments have expressed approval of the undertaking, which will be on a vast scale involving tremendous organisation, which will he set in operation at the earliest moment. The Duke of Argyle has accepted the presidency, and Mr Lloyd George is president of the Grand Council, while other members of the Cabinet and distinguished persons arc vice-presidents. The Council of the Overseas Section includes Mr Hughes and Mr Massey. Sir John Taverner, the secretary, in an interview, says the exhibition will be the largest thing ever seen in Britain, and is scheduled to last six months, and will possibly last two years. It may even develop into a permanent showroom for Imperial commerce.
