A POLISH OFFENSIVE. BOLSHEVIKS ABANDON DVINSK. TROTSKY APPEALS TO COSSACKS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received January 8, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, Jan. G. A Bolshevik wireless says that the Polish army has begun an offensive with the view lo relieving the pressure on General Deniken. The message adds that the Bolsheviks have abandoned Dvinsk in the meanwhile. The offensive again;-1 General Deniken continues- to make progress. Trotsky has issued a manifesto calling tile Cossacks’ attention to the plight of General Deniken and Admiral Kolchak. Trotsky offers to overlook the past if they will now side with the Soviets, and suggest the holding of a congress to discuss the matter.

The Bolsheviks claim lo have captured Mariaupol, and report that some of the enemy boarded steamers, while others fled along the coast. BOLSHEVIK ADVANCE ON ODESSA. POPULATION FLEE IN PANIC. DENIKEN’S ARMY DIVIDED. Received January 8, 9.25 p.m. LONDON, January 7. The Bolsheviks have reached the Sea of Azov, thus dividing General Deniken’s armies. The Bolsheviks have commenced a definite advance on Odessa over a broad front. The Odessa population is panic-stricken. The capture of Dvinsk brings about a contact of the forces engaged in the Lettish and Esthonian operations. NEW PEACE OFFER BY LENIN.

ABOLITION OF TERRORISM
