Dr. B. Walsh, resident surgeon ai the Thames Hospital, has resigned his position.
Inspector Bennett, of the Health Department, is at present on holiday, and is being relieved by Inspector Furness.
■lt is stated that the Hon. W. D. S. Macdonald is lying seriously ill a't Rotorua, and that his wife was sent for hurriedly yesterday: Dr. Wilkin, formerly of Hamilton) who has jvist returned from an extended tqur of the large hospitals in America and England, is at present o n a visit to Hamilton. The New South Wales estate of Sir Archibald Lucas Tooth, who died 'On service in France, is valued at £525,571. The baronetcy has lapsed. Mr P. J. Nolan, who has been for some years on the sub-editorial staff of the Sydney Sun, has joined the staff of the Sydney Morning Herald. Some years ago Mr Nolan was a well-known New Zealand journalist, and he was at one time on the staff of the Christchurch Press.
