POTATOES NEARLY EXHAUSTED. SHORTAGE IN MANY LINES. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received January 7, 9.55 a.m. BERLIN, Jan. 5. The new official prices include flour 7|d a pound, bread 6id, potatoes 2sd. Potatoes are in short supply, the full ration-being unavailable, and stocks may be exhausted in March. Butter is 12s 4d a pound, representing a rise of 100 per cent, margerine 6s sd, and meat 4s 3d, the ration being half a pound weekly. There is an acute shortage of coal, and the majority of the houses seem without eoal. Briquettes are selling at 145 s a ton.
