N.S.W. STATE ORCHESTRA
The visit to Hamilton this week of the New South Wales State Orchestra is arousing keen interest, and there has been an unusually heavy demand for seats at Paul's Book Arcade, everything indicating that the Theatre Royal will be crowded on Thursday night. This great orchestra, of 70 or 80 talented players., has done much to foster a love for the best in music on "the other side," and the same happy result is likely to follow the New Zealand tour. The Australian Musical News .said of ii recent concert: "However much was expected, the expectations were more than realised, and it is not possible to describe in cold print the impnession Mr Henri Verbrugghen and his fine body of instrumentalists left behind them. Summed up, ic can be termed wonderful. Mr Verbrugghen appears to have magnetism in his personality, and obtains marvellous results from the players.'.' The Orchestra will be supported by several soloists, including Madame GoossensVicercy and Mr All>ort Goossens (vocalists), Miss Jenny Cullcn, and Mr W. C. Coad (violinists), and Messrs Frank Hutchens and Henry Pcnn (pianists).
