— I POLLING DAY. i heavy voting expected. j To-day is polling day, and brilliant weather prevails, which, combined with the great interest in the Parliamentary elections and the poll on the .liquor

question, will probably result in a particularly heavy poll.. Motor, cars are flying about the town, conveying voters to the various polling places* at which, there is a steady stream of people passing in and out. This afternoon the simps will he closed and this, of course, will give added impetus to the .proceedings at (he booths.. ' - " The poll will close at G p.m„ and it is expected that very soon afterwards the first returns will be available. Very complete arrangements have been made- for the display of returns outside the Waikato Times Office, and it is expected' that, as usual, this will be the meeting place of the huge crowd of interested voters which is expected to throng Victoria street tonight. Between 7 p.rn. and midnight all vehicular I raffle will be stopped between Garden Place and the Theatre Royal. It is hoped that people will show a kindly consideration for the staff of the Waikato Times to-night and refrain, as much as possible, from ringing up for news of the poll. The staff will be too busy to attend to needless telephone calls. HEAVY POLLING PROBABLE. Press Association telegrams received to-day indicate that line weather pievails practically all over New Zealand for the elections, and polling is likely to be heavy.
