CONFERENCE WITH ITALIAN DELEGATES. MAY RETURN FOR PEACE SIGNING. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received May 3, 12.45 a.m. LONDON, May 2. The American Ambassador at Rome had a lengthy conference with Signor Orlando and Baron Sonning. An Impression prevails in Paris that Signor 'Orlando's speech indicates a desire to escape from the award dilemma without undue loss of prestige. The belief is current that Signor Orlando will return in ample time for signing peace, despite the declarations in Rome that Fiume must first be guaranteed to Italy.
