BREWERS AND DISTILLERY ORGANISING. \ IN OPPOSITION TO PROPOSED INCREASES. LABOUR AMENDMENTS ANNOUNCED (Australian and N".Z_.Cable Assn.) Received May 3, 12.30 a.m. LONDON, May 2. The brewers and distillers are organising opposition to the Budget beer and spirit duties. The Labour Party intends to move amendments to the Budget, demanding a levy on capital, the continuance of the excess profits tax,- withdrawal of Imperial preference, and raising of the income tax exemption to the limit of £'2TtO.
