KING’S THEATRE. '“The Marie of Gain,” the star piatture of last night’s subjects at the swing’s Theatre, is a striking Pathe j of unusual merit and ;power. The photography is brilliant, -•and the acting, mountings; scenery . and dressings are in accord. The rpopular American, Irene Vernon •■Castle, and Antonio Moreno do line ■work and received a hearty welcome ;2ast evening. A film of distinction, .Shown to applause, was the official record, “ With the Forces- in Meso•potamia,” which bristigs with interesting matter. The supporting subjects are good. To-morrow evening's star attraction will be Gloria Swainaon in Triangle’s latest “ Her Decision.’ THEATRE ROYAL. There was a very big house at the 'Theatre Royal last evening, when that remarkably effective and affecting drama, “Blue Jeans,” with artistic Viola Dana showing to rare advantage brought tears to the eyes r«f spectators. This outstanding screen production should not be missed. It rflnishes tp-night. Charles Chaplin in “A Dog’s Life” kept the house in roars, and sent patrons home in a ihappy frame of mind. Box plans are ■at Paul’s. The feature of to-morrow’s ■change will he dashing Jack Livingstone in Triangle’s vigorous story of ;the Far East, “Who is to Blame?” •This film is preceded by an excellent reputation, and should be worth seeing. “ THE KAN WHO STAYED AT HOME.” By arrangement there will be Shown at the King’s Theatre on Friday and Saturday nights, with a •matinee on Saturday afternoon, the sensational picture success, “ The Man Who Stayed at Home,” which recently achieved striking success at Auckland. The season Is under the .direction of Mr. A. Linley. TOWN HALL PICTURES. To-night, for the last time, will be shown Dorothy Dalton in “ Love Letters,” an excellent piece of photographic work showing the struggle of a young wife to keep the love of her ■ husband. How sbe succeeds is cleverly portrayed; also an uproarious Mack Scnctl comedy, three excellent Gazettes, and Desert Cold with Gloaming contesting the Hawera Stakes. To-morrow will he shown a super •programme of humour and comedy, which is so good that a special matinee will be given at 3.30. “Two Little Imps,” featuring a bachelor, unde with two little nieces'who have, a faculty for getting inTo . mischief; also “ Roaring Lions and Wedding Bells” —men riding real ostriches, •elephants in haystacks, lions under the •bedclothes; a Sunshine comedy, featuring wild, animals brought to a state -of training almost impossible to believe. An animated cartoon, Mull and Jeff in Freight Investigation is also included.
