EFFICIENCY CAMPAIGN
WEEK-END MEETINGS. In the Theatre lloyal tea rooms this evening ,at 7.30, Miss Butler, B.Sc., principal of the Girls’ Grammar School, Auckland, will give an address to women only in connection with the National Efficiency Board’s campaign. To-morrow afternoon, in the Theatre Royal, Miss Butler will speak on “National Efficiency from a Woman’s Standpoint.’’. This meeting will be open to all, and, as Miss Butler is stated to be a gifted speaker, it is expected there will be a large gathering. The lecturer will be supported on the platform by the following committee : Mesdames J. Barugh, M. 8011, E. O. Blamires, H. Clark, G. Cornfoot, E. P. Oowlos, H. Douglas, Geo. Edgecumbe, L. W. Faville, H. Ferguson, H. Forsythe, P. O. Garnham, W. Goddfellow, W. A. Graham, W. Gruar, Holloway, sen., W. H. Hume, E. Jolly, C. L. Mae Diarmid, R. Mackie, A. E. Manning, Ewen McGregor, James Primrose. (Dr.) Rogers, H. C. Ross, Sergei, E. V. Stace, Ebcn Wilson, W. H. Worsley, J. A. Young, and A. L. Yule: Misses Rothwell and Watty; and Dr. do la Mare. This evening,, in the King’s Theatre, a mass meeting will be held, when short addresses will be given by Messrs A. St. Clair Brown, C. F. Bennett, and R. A. Laidlaw, well known Auckland business men. In addition to tho addresses, a number of official films, dealing with Rod Cross work, will he screened. Tho films comprise a eomnlete set—- “ From the Battlfiold to ‘Blighty.’” and “ ‘Blighty to Now Zealand.” The first shows the work of the Red Cross on the. Western front at receiving sta- * fions on the road, embarking for England and in England, giving g general view of all activities of the Red Cross. The second film deals with the arrival of the hospital ship Mahono at Auckland, the disembarkation of troops, etc., etc . They are described as excellent.
