KING’S THEATRE

CHARLIE CHAPLIN TO-NIGHT.

The one and only Charles Chaplin, in his first “Alillion Dollar Comedy,” world famous under the title of “A Dog’s Life,” opens at the popular King’s Theatre to-night, and needless to say, there is sure to be a bumper house for the great merit of Chaplin’s latest and best, has filtered through to Hamilton. The success of “A Dog’s Life” is unprecedented. It showed in seven theatres fit Auckland, and in six treatres at Wellington to overcrowded houses. Cliaplin’s assistant, an intelligent dog, is as big a hit in this uictnre as is Charles himself. Winston Churchill’s fine nofvel, “The Crisis,” will also be shown. For Saturday afternoon and night and Alohday night, “A Dog’s Life” moves to the Theatre Royal. Seats should be reserved at Paul’s. THEATRE ROYALA big house unmistabeably approved the dashing presentation by Roy Stewart, that fine impersonator of Wild West" characters, and a clever cast of Triangle’s vigorous and forceful dramatic play of frontier life, “One Shot Ross.” This popular production, with Pathe’s serial, “The Fatal Ring,” and the good supporting subjects finish to-night. The strongest double-bill ever shown in Hamilton will be screened to-morrow afternoon, and also at night. “Blue Jeans,” the Metro drama, in which Viola Dana scores a triumph, holds the world’s undisputed record, and must be a play of astonishing merit. It showed for 3 years at the 14th Street Theatre, Chicago, and for one year at the Globe; Theatre, Boston. Miss Virginia Pearson shows some very clever acting in “Thou Shalt Not Steal,” a detective story, showing tonight for the last time at the Town Hall. Lovers of good pictures will be pleased at the extra good photography of this film. The supporting picture, “Where Love Leads,” is a very charming story, in which Miss Ormi Hawley, a very beautiful and dainty actress, takes the star part. Both the above arc released by the famous Fox Corporation. The* Mutt and Jeff cartoon is especially good, and caused much merriment on Wednesday evening.
