The film nrorides matter for a number of thrills. •nd finishes by leaving th? audience as much mystified as ever as to the identity of the girl of the double cross. "THE THIRTEENTH CHAIR."

More than usual interest is being taken in the production by J. C. Williamson, Ltd., at the Theatre Royal on Friday night of the sensational mysterv play, "The Thirteenth Chair," which has proved the most successful drama staged in New York for the past three seasons, while in Australia it broke all the previously-established records in Sydney and Melbourne by the same. author's other ,drama "Within the Law." "The Thirteenth Chair" is an unusual play. It is very tense: the, action moves swiftly and directly; and it grips. It is a mystery story, vividly and cleverly told. Surprise follows surprise, and there is suspense and breath catches, it is said, in almost, every minute of it. For this reason the onlooker is scarcely conscious of the big climaxes of the play. Miss Margaret Wycherly, who was brought out from America to portray the leading role, is, it is said, one of the finest actresses the United States has yet produced. Mr Brinslcy Shaw, who will take the part of Tim Donohue, the detective, also comes with a big reputation. The cast also includes Miss Lizette Parkns, Ethel Morrison, Gaston Mervale, Leslie Victor, Sydney Stirling, and lan Maclaren. The plans will open at Paul's Hunk Arcade to-mor-row morning at !) o'clock.
