In a characteristic advertisement Mr P. Virtue, manager of the Xorthern Roller Milling Company, Auckland, sets forth some propositions which deserve more than passing notice. Amongst other matters, he touches upon the disability under which the Dominion suffers because of the depletion of it man-power, in the producing industries, ami emphasises the necessity for the returned men being placed upon the land under the best possible conditions in order that production may be kept at ;: high level and the country, as far as possible, made independent of outside supplies of those commodities which can he produced here, wilh a little encouragement and foster-
