AMERICA'S ARMY
PREPARING FOR 5,000,000 MEN. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received October 17. p.m. WASHINGTON, October 10. The Military Deficiency Bill, providing for £1,200,000,000, has been reported to the House of Representatives. It is intended as a financial preliminary to the despatch of an army of 5,000,000 men to France in 1919. It is intended to keep 18 divisions ready overseas and 18 divisions constantly in training.
