Private Clarkin suitably responded, expressing his deep gratitude for the gift, which he would always value for the sake of the givers. A dainty sapper was provided. Dancing was indulged in until an early hour this morning, to excellent music supplied by Miss Leys and Mr E. Hunter, and an enjoyable gathering closed with the singing of the National Anthem, "Auld Lang §yne," and "He's a Joily Good Fellow," and hearty cheers fori Private Clarkin and the Clarkin family.
