LABOUR TROUBLES. By Telegraph—Press Association. \\ ELLINGTON, Friday. Work at the new Parliamentary Rmldings has been proceeding under difficulties lately. Workers, feeling the rising cost of living, have asked tor more wages. Carpenters found that the requests were not receiving tho desired consideration, and some" left the job. An increase of pav was then granted. Plasterers made* simi. jar representations, and got a slight increase, but stonemasons were not so successful. They asked 2s an hour in place of Is l()d. This was refused, and on Tuesday 1G men left the work' leaving only one or two on the job It is stated that the trouble will not interfere with the preparation of tho chamber for the parliamentary session, but the men are restive owing to the uncertainty as to whether work will be suspended during the session. The Minister of Public Works, however, says tile .work will yo on without interruption.
