Ry Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, Friday, in connection with the recent pro test bv Feilding Justices against tho appointment as Clerk of the Court at I*eliding of a man exempted from military service as "indispensable" to the head oil ire oi the Justice Department it is now stated that the Department »ot I )ro P° s e to send the man to r ending. He is to he retained in his present position, hut his formal promotion is necessary in order that he mi"ht not suffer injustice. The departmental view is that tho sine die exemption granted hy the Military Service Roard should apply t« the position then occupied by the man, and to any other position of equal importance, but at present no means exist for checking transfers. It is understood that there is strong feding inside and outside the Government service circles that all sine die exemptions should lx? referred back to the Military Service Roard in the event of the reservist's duties l>eing changed.
