ALLIES CAPTURE POSITIONS. (Admiralty per Wireless Press.) Received August 30, 5.50 p.m. LONDON, August 29. Austrian official: In Albania the enemy captured positions in the southern part of Tornor mountain, and between Janina and Vojusa. THE ALLIED WSTHDRAWAL. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received August 30, 8.10 p.m. LONDON, August 29. The Austrians in Albania commenced an offensive < n the 22nd, and have succeeded in capturing Berat. The Italians have withdrawn to the Malakas-tra-Cafaglava-Cafaglumaka line. The French left wing has been withdrawn in conformity with this movement. The Italians' line now runs the five miles south of Berat. The Malakstra ridge is important because it commands the harbour of Valina, and it is essential for the Italians to retain this position.
