TRIBUTE TO HAMILTON

AND THE BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY Closing his address at a special jnbiheld at St. Paul's Methodist Church, Westport, on Sunday night, Rev. T. J. Wallis, formerly of Hamilton, said:—

'"ln the North there is a town of great natural advantages—undulating hills, beautiful lake and lordly river. In that town is a beautifying society, which fills every unsightly spot with grass and flowers—which plants shrubs and trees by river and lake, and this combination of the natural ?nd the artificial is rapidly making Hamilton one of the most beautiful town s in this Dominion. This is what we are called to do morally in this community. If we plant the tree of worthy citizenship, God's rain will second our efforts, and 'the wilderness and solitary place shall be glad, and the desert shall rejoice and blossoms as the rose.'"
