JUST A DOZEN. May we ask in the very beginning the hearty co-operation of every resident »f the Waikato and surrounding districts, both men and women, in making the coming Show the most enjoyable and beneficial ever held in the Waikato In presenting to you our Twelfth Annual Prize List, we feel we are presenting you with a prize list of the "Best" Show that will be heid in the whole of the Dominion during the year of 1918. Here, on the banks of the glorious Waikato you will find a district unequalled by any and inhabited by the best people in the world: prospering a little more every year and learning and te jchmg practical methods which give fruitful results. Should our Exhibition never again open Imr gates it has !>een of inestimable value to the whole Dominion and especially to tiie Waikato and adjoining distiicts. Waik;ito, with the proud distinction of being one of the first districts in the Dr,minion in the production of butter and cheese, is again at the forefront with a larger number of exhibits. Thus, any movement that creates an interest in dairying and agriculture is a business asset. The Waikato Winter Show claims that position; it demonstrates results, it teaches and advertises. one promotes and the other talks —this counts for good business. In addition t« an exhibition of the year's accumulated resources, the Show brings together people who compare these methods, who gain most useful informnthn for themselves and in return distribute their observations over the Dominic n. Any feature that teaches progress demands a change in methods and machinery. Thus it creates trade, which is ballast to the business world and fills the demands of the social. In addition to the advantages of a show as an exhibition of profitable industries, it creates a certain class of amusement that the world enjoys only at intervals, and the enwds bring a spirit of " jolly good time'' throughout the whole five days. Variety is what the world wants, and om show furnishes this in its crowds, well as in its agricultural exhibits, poultry, and home-made things, and •the real opportunity to laugh until the show is over. Let every man. woman and child come to the Waikato Winter Show, June 4. 6, 7, S. 1918. You will f>e entertained as never before. We urge the support- of all loyal residents of the Waikato in exhibiting thier products and w-ores. It is a patriotic dutv you owe to one of the Dominion's greatest educational institutions. INVITATION TO ALL. In extending this invitation to our friends, we -ua'antee that while with us <bev slHl receive respectful attention, liberal treatment, and shall witness -n instructive, enjoyable and elevating entertainment. "Only a thought in passing, a smile, or encouraging word, has lifted many a burden no other gift could have stirred."
