The Nordsud says that refugees declare that the Germans are employing British prisoners in the construction of fortifications. The Germans have abandoned the Roumanian bank of the Danube, owing to heavy losses from incessant Russian air raids. (Admiralty per Wireless Press.) Received May 18, 8.50 p.m. LONDON, May 18. German official: We repulsed French attacks north and north-west of Monastir. ENEMY COUNTER-ATTACKS HEAVILY REPULSED. (Australian and New Zealand and Reuter.) Received May 18, 9.40 p.m. LONDON, May 18. British Salonika official: We heavily repulsed two counter-attacks on the Kjuprili-Struma front.
