Mr T. Wilford, of Wellington, was in Hamilton yesterday. Mr A. Happerley has been appointed to succeed Mr Teece as general managcr of the A.M.P. Society. The engagement is announced with the King's approval of Prince Alexander of Battenburg and Lady Irene, daughter of the Earl of Londesborough!
Hon. W. Fraser, Minister for Public Works, accompanied bv his private secretary, Mr J. H. McAlister. arrived in Hamilton this morning. The Mini'tpr wHI open the Waipa Lime Works at Knramu this afternoon, and will return to Wellington by the Main Trunk Express to-night.
A transport arrived at Dunedin yesterday. Amongst the soldiers who returned by her are Trooper Charles Dasler, farmer, and Private Charles Stubbs, linesman, both of Te Awamutu, and frcmer Edward Dunn, carrier, Taumarunui.
A Nelson press wire states that Mr H. G. Hill, well-known in the frozen meat and dairy produce trade, and until recently general manager for the Nelson District Fruit Packers, Ltd., has been appointed chief of the New Zealand dairy produce section at Messrs Ariiiuur an 1 Co.'s, Christchurch.
