FURTHER PARTICULARS.

(By Telegraph—Special to Times). TE KUITI, Thursday. Details of the fatal accident at Te Mawhara yesterday show that Butler Bros, were working for the Public orks Department on a bush road running through Mr Hargreaves' property. About 10.30 yesterday morning they put two charges into a stump to blow it up, and i etired. _ As the charges did not explode >jp to time they returned to ascertain the cause and Francis James Butler, aged 37 years, was leaning over the stump when tne explosion occurred. He received the full force, being blown about 12 feet away. His skull was fractured, and he received other injuries. An inquest was opened this morning, and adjourned for a week to enable the other brother, who has gone to Hamilton to give evidence.

Inquiries made this afternoon show that Joseph Butler is making excellent progress. He was lacerated about the face, and had one of his knee caps injured. -
